Thomas Cobley was born Bedwas abt. 1858. He initially worked as a miner in the Maesycwmmer area. In 1901 he was still working as a coal miner and living with his family at 48 High Street, Mountain Ash. He married Sarah Ann Lewis abt. 1880/1. Sarah was born Bedwas abt. 1860.
