John Cobley was born Van, Caerphilly, Glamorgan on 18th May 1861. He emigrated to the USA abt. 1885 where he worked in various locations as a coal miner. John died 13th July 1948 in Bay City, Bay County, Michigan aged 87 years. He married Margaret Ann Harris on 12th May 1883 in Newport, Monmouthshire. Margaret was born 10th April 1864 in Bedwellty and died 15th November 1927 in Bay City, Michigan aged 63 years.
John and Margaret had the following children:
Edward (Idris) Cobley was born Rockwill (probably Rockvale) Colorado abt. 1888.
Daniel Cobley was born Black Diamond, King County, Washington State 6th June 1890.
Hazel Cobley was born in Ohio abt. 1904.
