Matthew Cobley was born abt.1825 in Mynyddislwyn. In 1851 he was living in the Bryn, Clawrplwyf hamlet, Mynyddislwyn (now Maesycwmmer) and he was working as a coal miner. Matthew died 14 Feb 1899 aged 73, in Bedwas, he was buried in Hepzebah chapel, Bedwas. Matthew married Elizabeth Gibbon. Elizabeth was born in Bedwas abt. 1829. Elizabeth died 18 Jan 1901 at 71 years of age. She was also buried in Hepzebah chapel, Bedwas.

Charles Cobley Feb 1855. Charles died 21 Dec 1855 before his first birthday and was buried in Hepzebah chapel, Bedwas.
Samuel Cobley born abt 1859. Samuel died 25 Sep 1866 aged abt. 6 years old. He was also buried in Hepzebah chapel, Bedwas.

John Cobley born 18th May 1861, he married Margaret Harris in Newport, Monmouthshire on 12th May 1883.
Mary A Cobley born abt 1864.
Matthew Cobley born abt 1865. Mathew died in a mining accident in Australia abt 1900.
Catherine Cobley born abt 1868.
